Cavansite is a blue hydrous calcium vanadium phyllosilicate mineral. The name is derived from its chemical composition calcium vanadium silicate. It is polymorphic. Cavansite was first discovered in 1967 by a team of geologists in Malheur County, Oregon.

Cavansite was found in only two places, New Zealand and Brazil. Cavansite was discovered in Pune, India in the mid - the 1970's. Specimens from Pune are still of high quality, but very rare. Crystal Healers consider it a stone that gives courage and confidence. Good specimens of this are deep saturated bright blue, like flowers. The mining site at Wagholi in the Pune district is the only place in the world where Cavansite is commercially known.
