Unakite is the name used for a coarse-grained granitic rock that, after metamorphism, contains abundant pink orthoclase and pistachio-green epidote. It is easily cut and polished to produce beads, cabochons, small sculptures, and other ornamental items. Unakite is named after the Unaka mountain range of western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee
Unakite is said to be a stone of vision. It is also believed to be a stone of balance, grounding the self while bringing emotions and spirituality together. It facilitates rebirthing, gently releasing conditions that inhibit spiritual and psychological growth.
Unakite is mostly found in South Africa, Sierra Leone, Brazil, and China.
